For unvented (mains pressure) cylinders, yes — a G3 Building Regulations notification is required by law. Our engineers are G3-qualified. Vented cylinders don't require formal certification.

A quality copper cylinder should last 20–25 years with an annual service. Stainless steel cylinders can last longer. If yours is over 15 years old and showing faults, replacement is worth considering.

A like-for-like vented cylinder replacement typically takes a full day (6–8 hours). An unvented (mains pressure) cylinder replacement takes a full day plus commissioning and G3 Building Regulations notification. We'll confirm the timeline when quoting.
